Ready for some rod-bending action in Boynton Beach? Captain Christian Rec's 4-hour inshore charter is your ticket to hooking into some of Florida's most sought-after gamefish. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just starting out, this trip delivers non-stop excitement as we chase snook, tarpon, jacks, and more in the productive waters of the local inlets and Intracoastal Waterway.
As soon as we push off from the dock, you'll feel the buzz of anticipation. Captain Christian knows these waters like the back of his hand, and he's got a knack for putting clients on fish. We'll start by hitting some of his favorite spots, using light tackle or fly gear (your choice) to target whatever's biting. The beauty of inshore fishing is the variety – one minute you might be working a topwater lure for explosive snook strikes, the next you could be battling a high-flying tarpon. And if you're new to fishing or bringing the kids along, no worries. The captain's patient teaching style will have you casting like a pro in no time.
This trip is all about versatility. We'll match our approach to the conditions and the fish we're after. That might mean tossing live bait around dock pilings for snook, sight-casting to rolling tarpon, or working artificial lures for aggressive jacks. Captain Christian provides top-notch equipment, including two fly rods if you want to try your hand at the long rod. The shallow, protected waters we fish are perfect for light tackle, giving you a real sporting chance against these hard-fighting inshore species. And hey, if you just want to cruise and enjoy the scenery, we can do that too – the backwaters around Boynton Beach are stunning.

"I had one of the best days on a tour with Captain Christian! The weather was beautiful, and we were constantly catching. Some of us had almost no idea what we were doing, but he was patient and a great teacher. His skill as a seasoned fisherman was impressive! We saw sharks and flying fish, and brought back bonitos, snapper, tuna, and wahoo! I will remember this day forever and highly recommend this tour to anyone who gets the chance. Christian is the best!!" - Emily
"Christian was amazing! We went out as a 5 person group to fish, and had absolutely the BEST time. Four out of five of us were ladies, and I want to say that he made us feel so comfortable and empowered to fish. He was a great teacher, showing us the correct technique for reeling in our catches and had many interesting facts and answers to all of our questions. We got a load of fish, even caught some rare ones! And then there were sharks, which is honestly what I was hoping to see. We were able to see them up close and personal. Everybody had a fantastic time, and we are all planning on "getting with the program" again. Five stars to Christian!" - Mindy
Snook: These hard-fighting bruisers are the crown jewels of inshore fishing in Florida. Snook love to hang around structure like mangroves and dock pilings, ambushing bait as it swims by. They're known for their explosive strikes and powerful runs, often leaping clear out of the water when hooked. The challenge of outsmarting a big snook and the thrill of the fight keep anglers coming back for more. Fall and spring are prime seasons, but we catch them year-round in Boynton Beach.
Tarpon: Known as the "silver king," tarpon are the ultimate gamefish for many anglers. These prehistoric-looking giants can grow over 100 pounds and put on an acrobatic show when hooked, with spectacular leaps and gill-rattling headshakes. Tarpon migrate through our area in the late spring and early summer, but we also have some resident fish that stick around most of the year. Landing a tarpon is a true bucket-list achievement for any angler.
Barracuda: With their menacing teeth and lightning-fast strikes, barracuda are the adrenaline junkies of the inshore world. These toothy predators love to chase flashy lures and can hit with incredible speed, often jumping and tailwalking across the surface. While they're not known for their eating quality, the sheer excitement of hooking into a 'cuda makes them a favorite target for many sport fishermen.
Crevalle Jack: If you're looking for a workout, jacks are your fish. These bruisers swim in schools and can turn on like a switch, creating surface-churning blitzes as they chase bait. Pound for pound, they're some of the hardest fighting fish in the ocean. When a big jack takes your lure, hold on tight – they'll put your gear and your arms to the test with long, powerful runs.
It's not just about the fish – although believe me, the action can be red hot. What sets Captain Christian's trips apart is the total package. You're getting 15 years of local knowledge, a guide who genuinely loves what he does, and a commitment to making sure every client has a blast on the water. Whether you're a seasoned angler looking to tick some species off your list or a family wanting to make some memories, this trip delivers.
The convenience factor is huge too. All the gear is provided, including those two fly rods if you want to try something new. Your fishing license is covered, and there's plenty of cold water on board to keep you hydrated. Plus, with a max of six guests, you're guaranteed personal attention and plenty of time on the rod.
One of the best parts about inshore fishing is how accessible it is. The waters we fish are generally calm, so you don't have to worry about getting seasick. And because we're close to shore, we can adjust on the fly if the weather acts up or switch spots quickly to follow the bite.
Listen, if you're itching to bend a rod and feel that rush of a fish on the line, Captain Christian's half-day trip is calling your name. Whether you're a local looking for a quick fishing fix or a visitor wanting to experience the best of Boynton Beach's inshore action, this is the charter for you. The fish are biting, the weather's perfect, and there's nothing like the feeling of a screaming drag to start your day off right.
Don't wait – prime dates fill up fast, especially during peak seasons. Give The Program Sportfishing Charters a call and lock in your spot. Who knows? You might just end up with the catch of a lifetime and a story you'll be telling for years to come. Tight lines and see you on the water!

Barracuda are the sleek, toothy terrors of our nearshore waters. These missile-shaped predators can reach 6 feet long, but most we catch are in the 2-3 foot range. You'll spot them hanging around reefs, wrecks, and other structure, often in water 20-50 feet deep. Barracuda are ambush hunters, using their incredible speed (up to 35 mph) to chase down prey. They're a blast to catch on light tackle, putting up a great fight with aerial acrobatics. Summer is prime time, when water temps are warmest. Try fast-moving lures like tube lures or spoons - barracuda love anything flashy. Here's a tip: use wire leaders, as their razor-sharp teeth will slice through mono in a heartbeat. While not typically kept for food, barracuda offer exciting action for anglers looking for a hard-fighting fish close to shore.

Crevalle jacks are the bulldogs of our inshore waters. These powerful fish usually run 3-15 pounds, with a deep body and sickle-shaped tail fin. Look for them busting bait on the surface in our inlets and along the beaches, especially in summer and fall. Jacks travel in schools, so when you find one, you've often found many. They're not known for their eating quality, but pound-for-pound, few fish fight harder. Anglers love them for their explosive strikes and bulldog-like runs. To catch jacks, watch for diving birds - that's often a sure sign they're feeding. Throw topwater plugs, spoons, or jigs into the fray and hold on tight. Here's a local secret: when you see pelicans diving, there's a good chance jacks are pushing bait to the surface. These fish will test your gear and your stamina, so be ready for a workout!

Snook are one of the most sought-after gamefish in our area. These sleek predators typically run 1-3 feet long, with a distinctive black lateral line and protruding lower jaw. You'll find them lurking around mangroves, docks, and other structures in the inlets and intercoastal waters. Spring and fall are prime seasons as snook move between their inshore and offshore habitats. Anglers love snook for their aggressive strikes and acrobatic fights - they'll tail-walk across the surface when hooked. Live bait like pilchards or pinfish works well, but artificials like soft plastics and topwater plugs can be deadly too. Here's a local tip: work your lure right up against the mangroves or structure, that's where the big ones hide. And don't forget to check the regulations, as snook season is carefully managed to protect the population.

Tarpon are the silver kings of our waters, growing up to 8 feet and 280 pounds. These prehistoric-looking fish are famous for their spectacular aerial displays when hooked. You'll find them rolling and gulping air in our inlets and coastal waters, especially during their spring and summer migrations. Tarpon fishing is all about the thrill of the chase and the fight - they're not prized as table fare. The best time to target them is typically May through July, during the full and new moons. Live bait like mullet or crabs works well, but fly fishing for tarpon is the ultimate challenge. When you hook one, remember to bow to the king - drop your rod tip when they jump to prevent breaking off. It's all catch-and-release for these giants, so handle them carefully and quickly for the best photos and stories to share back at the dock.
